Based out of New York, Later Larry officially came together as a band in October 2024. The group has played several NYC live shows together, including at Pete’s Candy Store, The Bowery Electric, The Delancey, Silvana, NuBlu Classic, The Gin Mill, and a sold-out room at Sleepwalk (February 2026). They've shared stages with talented local bands like Crisis Public Relations, Mandy's Dreaming, and Death by Comet.

Lead singer and guitarist Maxwell Bailey found his roots in the local songwriter scene of Boston in 2015, where he originally met Alec Hutson—the group’s saxophone player and frontman for Death by Comet. Since then, the two relocated to New York and formed Later Larry alongside vocalist Kari Davis, bassist Dan Blaushild, drummer Chris Mizell, and keyboardist/guitarist Ilvi Calderon—whose other projects include c0degray and Underblue.

Folk lyricism and soul-inspired vocals blend with distorted finger-style electric guitar, neo soul chord progressions, blues riffs, and hip-hop rhythms to form Later Larry’s eclectic body of material. The band released its debut self-titled EP Later Larry with the talented artist and producer John Shakespear in October 2025.
